Colleen Lohry, a resident of Fort Collins, passed away on May 6, 2026, at home with her son while under the care of Pathways Hospice. She was 90 years old, which was an age she wanted to reach as a part of her ‘bucket list.’
Colleen was born on March 2, 1936 in Bracewell to parents William and Kathryn Jekel Claus. She attended elementary school in Bracewell, and graduated from Windsor High School in 1954. While attending high school, she met the love of her life, Robert Lohry. They married September 25, 1955. They were blessed with their son, Steve, on June 24, 1957.
The most important aspect of Colleen’s life was her family and friends. She held them close to her heart. She was an active member of United Methodist Church for over 60 years, serving with the United Women of Faith. In her free time, Colleen enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards, going to the movies, and watching the Broncos play. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at their cabin at Red Feather Lakes.
Robert preceded her in death on August 23, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Wilbert Claus. Colleen is survived by her son, Steve Lohry, of Windsor, as well as many beloved friends.
A graveside service for Colleen will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 1:00pm at Lakeview Cemetery, 301 Walnut Street, Windsor, where she will be laid to rest with her parents and husband. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:00 am at United Methodist Church, 1005 Stover Street, Fort Collins, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to United Methodist church, where Colleen found so much community over the years, or to Pathways Hospice, who provided exceptional care for her recently.
