Born on January 17th 1932 in Taos, New Mexico, she lived a life rich in love, faith, and family. A true matriarch, Cordelia Maria Duran was a cornerstone of the Duran family and was known for her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
For over 50 years, Cordelia Maria Duran was happily married to Jose Porfiro Duran, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with laughter, memories, and love. Together, they raised seven children, each of whom was blessed by her boundless care and wisdom. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, all of whom carry her spirit with them.
A proud resident of Colorado for most of her life, Cordelia Maria Duran was a fixture in her home, always ready with a smile, a word of encouragement, or a helping hand. Whether it was in her kitchen, or among friends, she was known for her hospitality, always welcoming others with open arms and making everyone feel like family.
Cordelia Maria Duran was a woman of deep faith, a devoted Catholic, and a guiding light to those who knew her. Her devotion to her faith, her family, and her heritage shaped every aspect of her life.
Cordelia is preceded in death by her husband Joe, son Jimmy Duran, daughter Jean Archuleta, and son-in-laws Danny Burke, Robert Peters, and Larry Ortivez. She is survived by her daughters Ruby Burke, Millie Crowley, Brenda Fallon, Judy Peters, and Annette Ortivez, as well as 16 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
Though she will be deeply missed, her love and wisdom will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family will accept visitors beginning at 9:00 am on October 23, 2025, at the Drake Chapel, located at 650 W Drake Road in Fort Collins. The Rosary will begin at 10:00am, followed by a traditional service and catered reception. A committal service will take place after, at Roselawn Cemetery at 2:00pm.
