Darryl R. Lucas

Born in Sterling, Colorado on April 4th, 1955, Darryl was the son of Wynona (Dickerson) and William Lucas. He grew up on the plains in Eastern Colorado and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Johnstown. He worked hard all his life as a maintenance man in various and numerous industries.

On August 7th, 2017, Darryl married Katherine Darlene Wright in Scott City, Kansas. They had crossed paths decades earlier as teenagers in a cafe owned by Kathie's parents. All these years later, they were set up on a date by Darryl's nephew and fell in love. Darryl was a caring and supportive husband. He loved Kathie dearly.

Darryl was a kindhearted man who always put others before himself. He was well humored and even tempered. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with Kathie. He loved his dogs Angel, who was very protective of Darryl and never left his side, and Katie Dog. He will be missed by family and dear friends. He leaves behind his wife Kathie Lucas and their son, Justin Lucas.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025 at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens in Fort Collins, Colorado. Darryl's Memorial Service will take place at 1pm followed immediately by a Graveside Service.
