Deanna Sue DeLucero (Blair) was born on December 12th, 1938 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Billie and Elwood Blair. Deanna grew up in Colorado, graduating from Denver South High School in 1956. She met Norris DeLucero (husband) while working for a beauty supply company and married on September 20th, 1959. Deanna took on the role of Stay At Home Mom and raised three sons Scott, Kurt and Kyle. In 1979, Deanna returned to the workforce and helped run the kitchen at Fairmount Elementary School in Golden, CO. Soon after, she accepted a position of Accountant / Financial Secretary at Drake Junior High School. She worked many years for the school district in this role and was affectionately known by the students, as “The Pencil Lady”, or the “Fee Window Lady”.
Family was the most important thing in Deanna’s life and everything revolved around the boys activities. Deanna literally endured hundreds of little league games over the years, countless fishing and skiing trips, and never missed anything that was important to her boys. Deanna always looked forward to the annual family trip to Glenwood Springs. As the boys moved away from home, Deanna and Norris enjoyed regular trips to Central City to beat the slot machines.
After retirement in the mid-90’s, Deanna and Norris spent time enjoying free time together, playing with the dogs, and time spent with the grandchildren and other family. Deanna was one of the most selfless people anyone would ever meet. After Norris was paralyzed from surgery in 1996, Deanna was there by his side day after day to care for his needs. Their love for each other endured through this hardship. She was an amazingly strong woman that put the needs of others ahead of her own, she was truly a good soul.
Over the years, dogs were a very integral part of Deanna’s life. Shadow, their golden retriever, brought them great joy for many years. And she would jump at any chance to watch over the grand-pups at her house.
Deanna was also very proud of her grandkids and all their accomplishments in their lives. It filled her heart to know both Kaleigh and Erica had married great men, and she found joy supporting Hayden at his football games or showing his 4H animals.
Being a sister was also a role Deanna held very well. Caring for her brothers and sister early in their lives to tending to them as they aged – she was a rock of the family. She cherished the many trips up to Central City or sitting on the couch enjoying a new Netlix series.
Deanna peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of November 28th, 2020 at the Lemay Health and Rehab Hospital in Fort Collins, CO.
She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her spouse of nearly 60 years, Norris DeLucero. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Joe Don Blair, Norma Gardner, Kenneth Blair, and Patty Blair.
She is survived by sister Rebecca Dea, her son’s Scott (Theresa), Kurt (Amy), Kyle (Jill), and three grand children, Kaleigh, Erica and Hayden.
