

Delores Katherine (Marckmann) Gray was born March 28, 1933 on the family farm in Adair County, Iowa to Herman and Alma Marckmann. She passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026 in Fort Collins, Colorado at the age of 93.
The second of five children, she helped and worked on the farm until leaving to study and become a teacher. After teaching elementary students for four years, she married Val Gray on April 12, 1958. Delores and Val started a family and lived in Kansas, Iowa and Colorado, eventually settling in Fort Collins. She was a wonderful, involved mom to their three children and enjoyed traveling and completing many different kinds of crafts. She particularly enjoyed sewing, knitting, needle crafts and making cards, and loved sharing her creations with family and friends. Later in life, Delores spent many happy times with her two grandsons.
Delores is survived by her daughter Melanie (Ken) Rojas of Fort Collins and son Scot Gray of Fort Collins, grandsons Zach (Lina) Rojas of Medellin, Colombia and Logan Rojas of Denver, Colorado and great granddaughter Zacklin. Also surviving her are her sisters Mardell Ahnen of Norwalk, Iowa and Marj (David) Lauer of Lincoln, Nebraska, brother Marlin Marckmann of Greenfield, Iowa, sister-in-law Karen (Bob) Wiggs of Milford, Iowa and many dear cousins, nieces and nephews and families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Val Gray, son Vance Gray, brother Delmar Marckmann and many other beloved family members.
