

He was born on May 1st, 1927 to John and Lulu Crowell. Immediately upon graduation he entered the Army. While stationed at Lowry in Denver he met his bride, Betty Rasmussen on a blind date.
They were married March 1st, 1947, three weeks after he was discharged from the service.
He brought his bride back to Sussex New Jersey. One year later their first child, Karen was born and two years later their son Donald Jr. came to join the family.
Donald loved country music and sang and played guitar on the radio.
Betty was homesick for family, so in 1951 Donald moved his family back to Denver, Colorado.
In 1952 their son Douglas was born completing the family.
Donald tackled a variety of jobs before he settled into a job at Public Service Co. and was there for many years. He left Public Service to further his education and work full time in the ministry.
He graduated from Baptist Bible College in 1978 as a Graduate of Theology.
He pastored a church in Canada briefly and led music in other churches back in the states. Whether singing in church or cleaning the church, he was faithful to his Lord, full of enthusiasm for life, friendly and outgoing to people, ready to tackle any problem head on.
He will be loved always and sadly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; brother, Merrill; and sister, Thelma.
He is survived by his children, Karen (Bob), Donald (Pam) and Doug (Pam); eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation 10:00 am – 11:00 am with funeral services to follow, Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens.
