We offer our condolences for your loss. Donelle was a wonderful woman who influenced so many lives. We loved Donelle too and considered her part of our family. We always appreciated her beautiful smile and hugs. Larry's favorite memory was when they all were in high school at the county fair. Donelle and her date were in the hammer ride, and the Bentley twins and Larry gave enough tickets to keep the ride going over 15 minutes. Like the good sport she always was, Donelle quickly forgave them. I remember the wonderful conversations Donelle and I had doing dishes at big family dinners. She had such a kind and generous spirit and will be missed by so many. Sending hugs and prayers to all of her family.

I (Carol) first met Donelle when she was assistant principal at KWHS when I started teaching. She was always calm, cool, & collect (a great counterbalance for Brad!). Later, we met again through Kurt & Judy. All of us came to love her gentle spirit and kind heart. I don't know all of Donelle's family, but I know her son, Kurt, inherited that same kind, gentle spirit. Donelle, your memory lives on through your wonderful family.

I was saddened by the news. It is so nice to read all of the memories left here before mine. A lot of my memories are so different because they come from the eyes of a young child. Being older, I always thought Donelle was so cool, because she was 9 years older than I am. I wouldn't be able to count the number of stories I heard from my Mom and my Grandma about her character, her kindness, her love of education and life in general. And her quiet wit. My Mom's favorite story was the day they were talking about Jim early in their relationship and not so secretly how nice of a guy Jim is and he also had a nice butt. Not missing a beat, my Mom agreed! Rest in peace Cousin Donelle. You should be proud of your life with all people you have influenced in a positive way. I know in my heart you are in great company with Mom, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Don, Aunt Betty and Uncle Dick.

Jim and Family,
Donna and I are deeply saddened by Donelle’s passing. I recall many times her always-smile and genuine kindness toward others. When we conversed about an issue at her school, I appreciated her impatience at getting the problem solved; not because she wanted the issue off her plate, but because a solution would benefit students. Her outlook on life was so positive, it affected those around her as well. We share your sorrows now and will smile with fondness as we reflect on our colleague, Donelle. Requiescat in pace, amica sociaque!

Donelle was first my colleague and then my mentor and always a friend. As a colleague, she listened, advised, laughed, and made "work" fun! As my mentor, she grew me as a teacher with care, sincerity, purpose, and again, through laughter, sincerity, and careful listening. I would not be the teacher I am without having her in my live. I am deeply saddened and feel so sad for her family. She was one of the strongest, grace-filled people I've ever had the honor to know. I miss her! I love her!
