

Jean was born in Greeley, CO on January 9, 1932 to Dan and Frieda Sitzman. She grew up on her parent's farm in Lucerne and graduated from Greeley High School in 1949. Jean married John Drescher on November 19, 1950 and they had two children: Mark and Lisa. The family moved to Fort Collins in 1966 which became the couple’s forever home.
Jean was a telephone switchboard operator for Mountain Bell then spent many years as the school secretary at Moore elementary. After retirement, Jean volunteered at the Poudre Valley Hospital Thrift Shop where she delighted in finding fun odd trinkets to gift her family at Christmas. She and John enjoyed many years of traveling and getting together with their gourmet group. Jean loved visiting with family and friends, reading, and walking several miles a day with her walking group. The last few years Jean resided at Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab where she made new friends and was well liked by the wonderful staff.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband John, son Mark, and brother-in-law Ron.
Jean is survived by her daughter Lisa Boyd, daughter-in-law Joyce Drescher, sister JoAnn Sisson, grandchildren Cortney (Nate), Ryan (Abbi), Katie, Andrew (Amanda), great grandchildren Xander, Maddie, Emerson, Grace and Avery, and many loving family members and friends including Chris Boyd and Jacque Pilkington.
Memorial service with be Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm, at Allnutt Drake chapel in Ft Collins.
