

Born in Arthur, Nebraska on April 30th, 1927, Dora was the eldest daughter of the late Faye Thurber Osborn & Leslie Earl Osborn. One in a family of nine, she had had five brothers and three sisters. She married Dean Delbert Ziems in Keystone, Nebraska on February 4th, 1948. They had five children. Dean came to Loveland in 1949 to work for The Bureau of Reclamation on the water diversion project. Later that year, Dora followed, and they fell in love with Loveland and the surrounding area. She worked at Scientific and HP. After retiring, she went on to volunteer at the Loveland Visitors Center. Traveling and anything outdoors was what she loved most in her life.
She is survived by her children Barbara May Osborn, Linda Darlene Helzer, Robert Dean Ziems, and David Michael Ziems; grandchildren Michael Cronin, Jordan Camden, Jon Ziems, Raylene Burson, & Jason Helzer; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers Ed Osborn & Mervin Osborn and sisters Elsie Wright & Ella Lebeta. Dora is preceded in death by Dean in 2009 and a son, George Ziems in 2007; as well as her brothers Harlan Osborn, Delbert Osborn and Alvin Osborn, and her sister, Joyce Osborn.
Services will be held on Monday, August 3rd, 2026 at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens in Fort Collins, beginning with a Viewing at 11:30am, followed by Dora's Funeral at 12:30pm, after which she will be laid to eternal rest.
