Doris Irene Rohret

March 6, 1933December 19, 2020

Doris Irene Rohret, 87, of Loveland, passed away December 19, 2020. Doris was born March 6, 1933 in Longmont, Colorado to Richard and Rose (Vigil) Mondragon.

Doris is preceded in death by her long time loves, husband, Don Rohret and son, Hans Rohret. And in special remembrance of her infant daughter, Georgia Lynn Rohret.

She is survived by her three daughters; Gail Allard of Loveland, Colorado, Donna Newton of Loveland, Colorado and Christine (Kasey) Brooks of Silt, Colorado, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandsons.

One of 8 children, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Beatrice, Richard, Helen Esther, Dickie, Daniel and George, and is survived by her younger brother, David Mondragon of Hurricane, Utah.

Doris was deeply inspired by spirituality and nature. Her desire for life was fueled by gaining new and varied experiences.

Composing poetry, writing, playing the piano, singing, dancing, cinnamon pie crisps and cake doughnuts brought her joy. Her inability to back up a car, or dive below water level while swimming brought her family much joy.

Pets and a myriad of hobbies, ranging from walking, tai chi, painting, sewing, decorating, finding treasures, word games, not cooking and reading filled her daily life.

She saw the world through a softer lens but was extremely brave and adept at handling crisis, and pain.

She brought to the world her unique talent to see all sides. To give balance, compassion, empathy and a soft heart to all that did and did not revolve in her immediate space.

A memorial service will be live streamed on Friday, January 22 at 2:00 p.m. from Resthaven Funeral Home, Fort Collins, CO. A link to this live stream will be posted here prior to the service.

My little granny, I will miss you so much. So much fun, so adventurous, all of our walks, our bus rides to Boulder, your playful banter & sense of humor. Nobody will be able to ever fill the void you leave behind, but am so glad to have so many wonderful memories with you, and glad you get to be with Grandpa Don and Hansy again. Miss you guys - love you so much.
