Dorris “June” Seacrest Baker AKA “Granny Creeps”, 94, of Fort Collins passed away April 5, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 9, 1927 to Fredrick Seacrest and Dorris Tilton in Lincoln, Nebraska.
June graduated as valedictorian from Gulf Park College in 1945 and married the love of her life, Robert “Spike” Baker, in 1947 in Moose, Wyoming overlooking Grand Teton. Together, June and Spike had four children, Donald “Tack” (Karen), Mark “Brad” (Janet), Scott (Nancy), and Holly (Lloyd).
June was a founding member of the Larimer County Humane Society and was a Volunteer Equine Cruelty Inspector. Her love of horses and children led her to running Moondrift Farm from 1973 to 2000 where she hosted many young girls to teach them to care for and ride the horses. She also actively raised money for Easter Seals at the farm.
While June enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her family year round, her favorite time of year was Halloween, hence why those chose to call her “Granny Creeps”. She loved hosting annual Halloween parties for family and friends where they all enjoyed the scares she had awaiting them.
June is survived by her children and spouses, grandchildren: Brook (Stephen), Kristy, Tiffany (Gary), Cameo, Carisa (Dave), Tyson, Justin, Briana (Kyle) and Abby; 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and granddaughter, Alexis Swanson.
This kind, beautiful, generous woman has departed from this Earth and what an impact she has made on those that came across her path. A Celebration of Life will be held for June on May 14, 2022 at Allnutt Funeral Service-Drake Chapel at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Larimer County Humane Society or Pathways Hospice in June’s name. For more information please visit www.allnuttftcollins.com.
