Doug was born on October 3, 1955, in Merced, California. He met the love of his life, Karen, in Temple City, CA, and they married on June 30, 1979. Together they built a beautiful life in Monrovia, CA. In 1991, with their two eldest children, Rachelle and Jacob, they moved to Colorado to continue their journey as a family. Their youngest, Tirzah, was born shortly after.
Doug spent his career helping others. He spent most of his career working as a trainer for an autobody software company. However, his true passions laid beyond work. He was an avid reader, a camper who loved the outdoors, a skilled woodworker, furniture restorer, welder, artist, and teacher. He had a gift for finding joy in life’s simplest moments and was known for his warm heart and infectious laughter.
Above all, Doug was a man of unwavering faith. He loved Jesus Christ with all his heart and worshiped with a voice that was as big and beautiful as his spirit. His faith was his foundation, and he shared it openly and joyfully with those around him.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Post, and their three children, Rachelle Henningsen, Jacob Post, Tirzah Post, and 11 grandchildren. His love and guidance will remain with them always.
While we grieve his passing, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the legacy of love, laughter, and faith he leaves behind. Doug is now rejoicing in the presence of his Savior, and we find comfort in knowing that his voice is still singing, louder and more joyfully than ever.
