Duane was beloved as a husband, father, son, and brother. He was a dear friend to many. He is deeply missed today, tomorrow, and forever.
Born in Bakersville, California on May 27th, 1985, Duane grew up in Loveland, Colorado surrounded by a large, blended family. Life was not without its challenges. He was an ornery boy who liked being outdoors and maybe causing a little trouble. Duane had a love for riding motorcycles that began at a very early age. He took his first ride with his dad as a baby, got his own bike at the age of 17, and carried that love and the freedom of riding with him throughout his life.
On May 22, 2008, at a family gathering, Duane met the love of his life, Rachael Wolf. From the moment Rachael laid eyes on Duane, she was just smitten. He was so handsome and so funny. Right away, Rachael was in love. The feeling was mutual and Duane and Rachael were later married. They enjoyed six years together as a couple before welcoming their first child, Hannah, in 2013. Then came the twins, Wyatt & Harley, in 2015 and in 2021, the youngest, Riley.
Duane was the best daddy and loved his children so much. He shared with them his love for riding, taking them around on his bike. He taught them how to work with their hands in the garage and together they built a go-kart and did laps around the backyard. He shared his love for cooking with his daughter, Hannah, showing her the way around a kitchen. Family time meant so much to Duane. He would go absolutely all out for the 4th of July. He made time for his kids and he made that time count. His family was his whole heart.
Duane worked hard, always, to take care of his family. His love for cooking led him to a career as a chef. What he loved even more than cooking, was grilling. He was all about his grill and all about his meats. He loved gathering and having cookouts and feeding others. Duane was a builder and a fixer. He loved working with his hands and in his garage. He was very social and always friendly. He was fluent in sarcasm, had and incredible sense of humor and would get to know people by making them laugh. To know Duane was truly to love him and love being around him.
Forty years in this life is simply not enough and Duane deserved more than what life gave him. Even so, he was a good man who led a good life and raised a beautiful family. His memory lives on in the hearts of his loving wife Rachael Wolf, and his beloved children, Hannah, Harley, Wyatt, and Riley, who all miss him so much. Duane will also be remembered by his dad, John Drieth (Amber), his many sisters and brothers, and close friends, and is further survived by a large extended family.
Services will be held for Duane on Friday, June 27th, 2025 at Lifespring Covenant Church in Loveland. There will be a time for viewing at 10:30am followed by a Celebration of Duane’s Life at 11:30am. A Gathering of Family & Friends will follow later in the day. Details will be available at Duane’s service.
