Earl Franklin (Earl the Pearl) Lofton, 86, of Fort Collins, Colorado and Mayfield, Kentucky passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Fort Collins Heath Care Center. Born in Flint, Michigan, he was the son of the late Margaret and Luther Lofton. He graduated from La Porte, Indiana High School in 1953.
Earl joined the United States Army in 1956, honorably serving his country for two years. He was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church, Mayfield, Kentucky. Earl had a brilliant recall of many sporting statistics. He was often referred to as “STAT Man” during his retirement years. Earl was passionate about attending every Mayfield Cardinal’s football game. He was considered their number one fan. He also cherished the time he spent with his nephews attending University of Kentucky basketball games.
Earl never married. Surviving are; his brother James (Dot) Lofton of Fort Collins, and his many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Earl.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers John (Jack) and Randall (Randy) Lofton.
Everyone in Earl’s life was aware of his love of Jesus Christ and his loving, gracious heart.
We are grateful to Fort Collins Heath Care Center and Suncrest Hospice for the loving care they provided to Earl.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions and other circumstances, no services will be held. Earl will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Fort Collins, CO. Please celebrate Earl’s life as you gather in your next family functions.
