Elaine Daly

Elaine was born in Payson, Utah, September 24, 1935 to Arnold Leonard Peterson and Regina Robertson Peterson. She graduated in 1953 from Richfield High School in Utah. She attended Brigham Young University, graduating in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

She married Joseph LaVerne Daly, also from Richfield, on March 17, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Elaine was an active, life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, faithfully serving in many positions in the church over the years. Her greatest satisfaction was caring for her husband and children as a stay-at-home mom. Her home was always in order. She returned to the work force later in life, working again as a registered nurse. Most of her years were spent with Larimer County Health Services, sharing her skills with those in need in her community. She was an avid supporter of all athletics, especially those of her husband and children, rarely missing an event.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Joseph LaVerne Daly, parents, Arnold Leonard and Regina Robertson Peterson, her sister, Colleen Peterson Thompson and a grandson, Aaron Joseph Daly.

Elaine is survived by her children: Todd J. Daly of Provo, UT, Diane Daly of Victorville, CA, Christine Hiatt (Rick) of Berthoud, CO, Craig J. Daly of Loveland, CO, Claire Brown (Terry) of Provo, UT, and Bryan J. Daly (Sarah) of Denver, CO; brother David A. Peterson of Modesto, CA; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens 8426 S. Hwy 287, Ft. Collins, Colorado 80525. Interment will immediately follow the service at the same location.
