

Betty was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 28, 1923 to Otto Herman Zumwinkel and Essie May Jones.
Betty graduated from Northfield Seminary High School in 1941. She went on to attend Agnes Scott College, University of Colorado, and the University of Denver, from which she graduated from in 1945 with Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and Education.
She was an elementary school teacher in Denver from 1949-1951, and in Juneau, Alaska from 1951-1952. She was also a registrar at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, CO in the 1970's.
She was a P.E.O member for 77 years, a Hilltop Guild Member in Allenspark, CO, and Delta Gamma Sorority Member. She enjoyed knitting, spinning, weaving fiber arts, and reading novels.
Betty is survived by her son, Daniel R. Butler of Parker, CO; and her daughters Susan E. Butler of Longmont, CO, and Joanie B. Schiavo of Fort Collins, CO. Betty is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Victor R. Butler (first husband), Brandon Taylor Schiavo (grandson), and John Fulton (second husband).
Memorial contributions can be made to Hilltop Guild Scholarship Fund, Allenspark, CO, in Betty's name.
A Catholic Mass will be held for Betty at Saint John XXlll Catholic Church at a later date.
Betty will always be lovingly remembered for her incredible generosity, kindness, and unconditional love.
