Elizabeth Joan Quinn “Betty” was born in Stratton, Colorado on July 23rd, 1933, and peacefully went into the hands of God on October 4th, 2024 in Fort Collins, Colorado at the age of 91. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.
Her parents were Gladys Pugh and George Quinn. She married Paul Duane Roehr on August 23rd, 1955. Betty spent her entire life raising five beautiful daughters and teaching. She loved being an educator and throughout her career taught every grade except first, including College. She also loved reading and learning. Betty received her master’s degree from Sam Houston State University and was even close to finishing her doctoral degree. She was very intelligent and had a quick wit about her. From those 5 daughters she was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Betty was a woman with a radiant smile and fun, spicy personality. She enjoyed travel and music, played the piano heart-fully, enjoyed listening and dancing to music. She was passionate about animals and gardening. Much of her free time was spent with her beloved pets or in her stunning garden. She furthermore loved decorating in both her gardens and her homes and created many beautiful environments throughout her life. Her love of family and learning paved way to an interest in research regarding genealogy and her family’s history. A history that she documented and crafted into beautiful books for each of her family members to keep as mementos.
Visitation will be held at Allnutt Funeral Service located at 650 W. Drake, October 9th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Rosary will be at St Joseph’s Catholic Church at 300 W. Mountain Ave. on Thursday, October 10th at 9:00 am and Services to follow at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Allnutt's website to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Pathways Hospice of Fort Collins.
