

She was born on September 17, 1940 in El Carnero, Colorado; the second child of Leofredo Medina and Emiliana Sanchez. Her siblings were David, Phyllis, Phil, Richard and Lorraine.
Florence married Jose Arguello on July 29, 2001 in Rapid City, South Dakota. She lived most of her life in Colorado and also lived for some time in South Dakota. She obtained her GED and went on to attend Business School at Mesa College. She later completed Cosmetology School and so began her career as a Hairdresser.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and traveling to see her family from Washington State to Pennsylvania. She enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and followed NASCAR driver Joey Logano. On Mother’s Day she would attend the Mother’s Day Music Festival in Taos, New Mexico for many years.
Florence is survived by her children, Diana (Ruben), Denise (Ken), Roxanna (Mike) David (Gina) and by her 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Richard, and sisters, Phyllis and Lorraine, as well as many nieces & nephews, cousins, and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Arguello, her son, Anthony Torres, her brothers David and Phil, and by her parents, Leofredo and Emiliana.
Florence was placed to rest at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota in a private ceremony. An Open House Celebration of Life will be held for Florence on Sunday, May 26th, 2024 at La Quinta Inn in Fort Collins, from 2pm - 4pm.
