Gary C. Marrou

Gary was born on January 8, 1942, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Marcel Marrou and Fern Beck Marrou. He grew up in Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela, with his parents, brother Dale, and sister Linda. The family moved back to Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1958. Gary graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1961 and attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado.

Gary went on to serve as a military police officer with the Air Force National Guard. He spent the majority of his career in commercial concrete flatwork, working for Keifer Concrete, Marrou Concrete, and Top Gun Concrete. He retired in 2015.

Gary loved being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, camping, and taking horseback trips into the mountains. He also enjoyed gardening, yard work, and spending time with family and friends. He loved his son, David, daughter-in-law, Julie, and granddaughters, Taylor, Brooke, and Ashlee, and was so proud of each of them. He loved hearing about their activities, work, school, horses, and rodeos. Gary enjoyed visiting with everyone he met—he knew no strangers.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Myrna; his son, David (Julie); granddaughters Taylor, Brooke, and Ashlee; brother Dale (Pat); brother-in-law Dennis; sister-in-law Janet Browning (Jack); Colby Green; Kole Knaub; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, dear relatives, and friends.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the caregivers from AccentCare and Mountain Ministry who cared for Gary over the past few years. We are also grateful to our family, friends, and neighbors for their prayers, calls, visits, and food. A special thank-you goes to Jake Luna for his faithful help. We feel truly blessed to have all of you in our lives.

A Celebration of Gary's Life will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 11:00 am at Allnutt Funeral Service - Drake Road Chapel, located at 650 W. Drake Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80526. Please join Gary's family, after the service, for lunch and conversation.
