Gerald “Gerry” E. McDuffee Jr., 95, born August 28, 1930 in Manchester, New Hampshire, peacefully passed away on November 5, 2025 joining his beloved wife Imogene, with whom he shared nearly 52 years of a loving marriage.
Gerald was the son of Gerald and Martha (Boyden) McDuffee and spent his early years in Water Village, New Hampshire. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire’s School of Applied Farming in 1950, Gerry then began a 30 year career in the United States Air Force, serving from January 1951 through September 1980. His service took him around the world, including the Marshall Islands, Okinawa, Japan, Hawaii and Korea. Among several stateside tours, he spent seven years at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, where he and his family established their home in Monument, Colorado. After retiring from the Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant, Gerald worked at Honeywell Systems for ten years before fully retiring in 1990 and returning to Monument.
Gerry married the love of his life, Imogene (Campbell) McDuffee, in October 1953 and together they built a family filled with laughter, support and unwavering love. Gerry and Jean had four children between 1954 and 1959. Gerry’s greatest joy was always found in the company of his family. He led by example — always putting family first, offering wisdom and encouragement, and showing us the meaning of kindness, strength and generosity.
Gerry is lovingly remembered by his surviving children: David McDuffee (Beverly) of Monument, Colorado, Sherry Jaspers (Neal) of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Carol Walters of Littleton, Colorado. He is a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by his son Duane Allan, his wife Imogene, his sister Charline Bowersox and his granddaughter Ursula.
Gerald believed deeply in service to his country, his community, and most importantly, his family. He gave generously of his time as a volunteer with the local museum, the Historical Society, his church and through many community roles over the years.
The family would like to thank Columbine Health Systems for many years of kindness and care. We would also like to thank the Pathways Team for their compassion and support during Gerry’s final days.
In honor of Gerald’s spirit of service and generosity, donations may be made to your favorite charity, or to the Monument Presbyterian Church, 238 Third St, Monument, Colorado 80132.
