Geraldine "Gerrie" Boone

Affectionately known as “Gerrie”, she was born on February 18, 1949, in Harrold, South Dakota, to the late Victor and Shirley (Salathe) Auch. Raised in Chamberlain, South Dakota, alongside her brother Jimmy, she grew up with strong roots and a classic sense of midwestern warmth.

Her life changed forever the day young Allen Boone spotted her walking down the street in Chamberlain, called out to her to get in the car, and won her heart. The two were united in marriage on August 21, 1964. At just 16 years old, Gerrie embarked on a lifelong partnership with Allen that spanned 62 wonderful years. Together, they built a life full of movement, adventure, and devotion, moving from Chamberlain to Georgetown, Colorado, through Arkansas, Missouri, Humble, Kansas, to Manhattan, Kansas, and back through Colorado and Texas, before eventually making their final home in Loveland, Colorado.

Gerrie dedicated her life entirely to her family as a stay-at-home mother. Her dedication was complete—she never used a babysitter or a pet sitter, preferring to take her kids and the family dog everywhere they went. She had a gift for creating structure and warmth: there was a clear order to everything she did, and a place for every item in her household. She managed the home and finances with incredible care, ensuring her family always felt secure and looked after.

Gerrie was simply the best mom and wife—fiercely supportive of her family, always putting their needs above her own. She was equal parts loving, kind, ornery, and stubborn. She had the biggest heart and was always ready to help anyone in need. She was also a woman of quiet, steady faith and unwavering strength.

Beyond her family, Gerrie was a talented crafter. She enjoyed needlepoint, was an accomplished seamstress, and an avid collector of Cabbage Patch dolls, which she lovingly restored with great skill and attention to detail.

She will be remembered for the warmth and care she extended to all. Gerrie will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of 62 years, Allen Boone; her children, Rex Boone (Robert Williams) and Cindy Springsteen (Travis); the grandchildren she cherished, Genevieve and JT; and her brother, James "Jimmy" Auch.

Her family finds comfort in the hope that she is now reunited in heaven with her son Michael “Mike” Boone, who passed away in 1989 at the age of 24. May they both rest peacefully.
