Gloria Ronayne of Aurora, formerly of Loveland, passed away peacefully on May 5th at 7:00 p.m. at Shalom Park in Aurora, CO. Gloria was born in Detroit, MI on April 3, 1925 to Henry and Ethel (Eckhardt) Mittelstaedt. Gloria graduated from Eastern Michigan University and later earned a Master’s Degree from Wayne State University. She taught elementary school in Ferndale, MI. Her passion was teaching blind children. After teaching, Gloria pursued a career as a medical technician in the field of ophthalmology. She volunteered extensively in her church and in the community.
She married C. Ed Ronayne in 1958 in Detroit, MI. They had four children, Abbie, Mike, Stephanie, and Colleen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; daughters, Abbie and Stephanie; and brothers Henry and Ty.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Shalom Park Nursing Home, Aurora, CO. at 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. There will be a private family inurnment at Resthaven Memory Gardens at a later date.
