Born in King City, Missouri, on October 14, 1931, she was the youngest daughter of Elizabeth (Kerns) and George Homan, and sister to Richard, Betty Lou, Audrey, Dora, George, and Daniel, all of whom preceded her in death. She grew up in Albany, Missouri, and graduated from Albany High School.
On May 7, 1950, she married Gerald Dean Bryant. Together they welcomed four sons. Ida stayed home to raise her children and later worked alongside Dean at their gas station. The family moved to Loveland, Colorado, in 1970, and Ida and Dean enjoyed "snowbirding" in Arizona for 30 years following their retirement. They had celebrated more than 67 years of marriage at the time of Dean's passing on June 3, 2017—exactly nine years to the day before Ida.
Ida was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family and took immense pride in caring for her home. She was kind and generous of heart, but also tough, as she had to be raising four boys. She was a woman of quiet strength and deep faith. When she wasn't caring for her family, she enjoyed reading her Bible.
She is survived by her four sons and their wives: Jerry Bryant (Carmen), Rod Bryant (Suzette), Mick Bryant (Robyn), and Greg Bryant (Jenny); as well as eight grandkids and 17 great-grandkids.
A Celebration of Ida's Life will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens in Fort Collins, Colorado. Immediately following the service, she and Dean will be laid to rest together.
