Irma Jean Buchanan

Irma Jean Buchanan, known to her loved ones as Jean, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025 at the age of 93 in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born on October 19, 1931, in Butler, Pennsylvania, to Victor A. Fry and Della A. (Lechner) Fry.

Jean's life was filled with love, family, and hard work. She first married Fred C. Stahl, with whom she had three children: Gary, Karen, and Linda. After Fred’s passing, she married Lester L. Buchanan, and together they welcomed their daughter, Lisa.

Jean and Les built a life together, moving to Corona, California, before settling in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1972. There, they established a successful painting and drywall business. Jean dedicated her career to bookkeeping, supporting both a local business and her family's company.

In their later years, Jean and Les enjoyed years of adventure, traveling the country in their RV and making cherished memories along the way.

Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Gary (Cathy) Buchanan; daughters, Karen (Kevin) Tracy, Linda (Gordon) Walker, and Lisa (Randy) Medbery; her brothers Robert "Bob" (Betty) Fry and Raymond "Ray" (Noreen) Fry; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Della Fry; her first husband, Fred C. Stahl; her second husband, Lester L. Buchanan; and 4 brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, at 10:00 AM, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church Loveland, CO. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Jean’s life. A private family interment will take place at Roselawn Cemetery on Tuesday.

Jean will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A viewing for Irma will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 4650 Sunview Dr, Loveland, CO 80538, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
