Jacob E. Gerstner

Born to Jacob H. and Catherine (Lenhardt) Gerstner in Loveland on June 20, 1929, Jacob was one of eight children. He graduated from Longmont High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and two brothers.

Jacob and his wife Cora met as children.

Their 66 years together were highlighted by the births of their four surviving children, Marilyn (and her husband James) Robb; Chuck Gerstner; Eileen Gerstner; and Dianne (and her husband Benjamin) Novey. Jacob is also survived by his four grandchildren, Steven Robb, Katie Robb, Madeline (and her husband) Noblett, and Andrea Novey.

Jacob retired from Rocky Flats Plat in Louisville, after which he and Cora moved to Loveland.

He was a quiet but talented mechanic and craftsman who enjoyed spending time outdoors and tending to his home and lawn, as well as helping neighbors with their projects. He also had a strong appreciation for history, news and current affairs.

There will be no formal services. Jacob will be cremated; inurnment will occur at a later date.
