

He was a native born Coloradoan, son of John and Margaret Lamb, where he grew up in Denver. Jim was always a hard worker. As a teen he worked at a greenhouse and later worked there while attending community college. His time was intermixed with work, skiing and education from Western State to CSU before the Army sent him to Korea 1968 (his choice rather than Vietnam). The GI Bill with very helpful afterwards after he returned. It was about that time (1970) that he met his wife to be, Sue Ellen Jack, through visiting friends (aka blind date).
In 1971 Jim and Sue moved to Fort Collins and continued their education at CSU, both graduating in 1973. Jim earn a degree at Colorado State University, BS in Business Administration and continued with Computer Sciences. He was proud of becoming a Certified Public Accountant in 1976 and worked as an Agent/Computer Audit Specialist with the IRS. He had a combined 30 years of service for the US Government before he retired in 2002.
His favorite sport was mogul skiing at many Colorado ski areas but mostly Winter Park. Later years it was tennis and his bike rides. One particular bike had over 10,000 miles on it. He built a 1956 Ford Truck and put a 426 Hemi engine in it. What a rumble. Jim & Sue enjoyed car shows and won awards. His at home hobby was woodworking. He built two beautiful mahogany grandfather clocks and a curved mahogany fish tank. The Lamb home, as well as his daughter’s homes, have many of his woodworking projects.
Jim had many vacations with his Sue, Stacey & Isaiah & often Kenny. Deborah would also bring her boys over to enjoy our backyard. Jim retired early enough to be able to teach bike riding and swimming to Kenny. He loved his family. Jim was always active! It was a life well lived. He will be deeply missed.
Surviving is his wife, Sue, of 52 years, his children, Deborah Lamb, Fort Collins and Stacey (Isaiah) Mobley, Fort Collins. There are 3 grandsons, Kenny Crespin, Devin and Jayden Shoemaker, all of Fort Collins.
Also surviving are his brother, Tom Lamb (Illinois), and sisters, Sharon Walulis (Calif) and Judy Keife (Texas).
A celebration of life and internment will be announced Spring of 2026.
