His next venture, he enlisted in the Navy and travelled on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge. When he left the Navy in 1955, he helped his dad farm for a couple years until he married Dorothy Irene Markus. He worked at Empire Aviation for a couple years in Colorado. His first child, Steven James Lundahl, was born in 1958. He then moved to South Dakota in 1960 and worked in Black Hills until 1964. His second child, Stacie Jo Lundahl, was born in 1964. He then moved back to Colorado and worked at United Airlines until 1970. Then he went to work for a traveling aviation club, Ports Of Call, until 1975. In addition, because of his love for aviation, he was an FAA Inspector. He became divorced in 1979. His last work venture, working for NCAR (National Center of Atmospheric Research), took him all over the world from 1975 until 1994. It was then that he retired. He was able to enjoy his Colorado Rocky Mountains and not have to travel for work. He moved from Denver to Loveland in 2000. His passion for fishing and the outdoors grew and he gave up his pop up tent for a cabin along the Poudre Canyon. Being the generous person he always was, he opened his cabin up for family and friends to enjoy as well. His family and faith mattered which meant the world to him. He was active and enjoyed being part of the Knights of Columbus.
