

Jim graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester, New York in 1962. He served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1970.
Much of his service was aboard the USS JOHN C. CALHOUN (SSBN 630).
He worked as an Industrial Quality Inspector for the Oil and Gas Industry. He also helped pioneer the alternative fuel industry across the Front Range.
Jim married Marlaine (Marni) Haag on November 25, 1967 in Rochester, New York. They raised their family of five children in Northern Colorado.
He was a member of Journey Church and a Chaplain for the USS John C. Calhoun Veterans Association. He supported many Christian organizations, as well as local and national military support groups.
Jim enjoyed Rockies baseball, wood working and outdoor activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Margaret, and brother, Gerald Magin.
He is survived by his wife, Marlaine (Marni); children, James (Melissa) Magin, Jeremy (Kassandra) Magin, Jonathan (Lauren) Magin, Kristen (Michael) Canning and Gretchen Magin; grandchildren, Ashlyn and Emma Magin, Cael Canning, Kylie and Kyndall Magin.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, December 1, 2017 at Journey Church, Windsor.
