Jim was born in Kingsport, TN on June 24,1956 to the late Jack and Joyce Edwards Quillen.
Jim was an Interventional Cardiologist having practiced in Wisconsin, California and Colorado. He was dedicated to his patients, many of whom became good friends. He took great pleasure in sharing his love of the great outdoors, through his photography, both above and below the water. He was an avid scuba diver and enjoyed traveling, especially to the South Pacific. He was passionate about music, whether it was playing his stereo for all the world to hear or his daily morning piano practice. His dedication to his family, always a priority, was even more evident during his last months.
He is survived by his wife, Lori (Schultz) Quillen and his daughter, Hannah Quillen, both of Fort Collins, Colorado. As well as his siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Joyce Quillen.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Pathways Palliative and Hospice Care staff, Dr. Shelanski, Dr Hallum and Dr. Haider for their time, expertise and support.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Fort Collins. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family suggests making a contribution or trip to your favorite National Park in Jim’s memory.
