Known for being trustworthy and honorable, Jim lived by a set of values that earned him the admiration of those who knew him. His quiet wit brought laughter to those closest to him, while his fearless spirit and loyalty made him a steadfast friend and family member.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he valued time spent with his family. His desire to be an active part of their lives was shown by building, creating, and tempting fate in the outdoors together.
Jim owned his own custom home building company for 44 years and this company was a testament to his expert craftsmanship and attention to detail. Whether it was building homes or working on countless projects with his kids and grandkids, Jim’s skills as a problem solver and creator left a lasting mark. Always being proud of the process and the finished product—he was always willing to put the time and effort into everything he touched to make it perfect.
An adventurer at heart, Jim embraced the great outdoors with enthusiasm. Hiking, camping, fly fishing, and snowmobiling were among his favorite pastimes, along with dock diving with his dog, Rosie. He used these hobbies to bring his family together and create memories that would last forever.
Faith played a central role in Jim's life. He held a strong, personal relationship with Jesus, finding strength and guidance through daily Bible readings. His faith shaped his actions and guided his life.
Jim is survived by his wife and adventure partner, Cheri Scott; his children, Joel, Aubrey, and Austin; his daughter-in-law, Kaitlyn; his future son-in-law Arley and his grandchildren: Jael, Harvey, Esther, Gracie, and Abi.
