Jan Dwight Wilson

November 24, 1952August 22, 2018

Jan D. Wilson passed from his earthly home to his eternal home on August 22, 2018. Jan was born November 24, 1952, in Burwell, NE, to Carl and Mildred Wilson. He graduated from Burwell High School in 1970 and from the University of Nebraska in 1979 with a degree in teaching. He met Dee Ann Proctor in North Platte, NE, at the school where they both were teaching. They were married June 26, 1982, in Loveland, CO, and recently celebrated 36 years of marriage. They continued teaching in North Platte for several years before moving to Loveland where Dee Ann continued her teaching career and Jan pursued a variety of vocations including real estate, lawn care, retail department manager and stocker at Wal-Mart, and most recently at MAC Equipment, Inc. where he was employed at the time of his death. Jan was very proud to be the father of Kelsey who serves at the Cambodian Christian Arts Ministry in Phnom Penh. In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by four sisters: Sharon (Wesley) Kleven of Oceanside, CA; Suzanne (Dwayne) Ellison of Laguna Woods, CA, Carleen (Ron) Jurgensen of Kearny, NE and Carol (Rob) Williams of Blair, NE. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jan loved music, the outdoors, and Harleys; but he loved his family most of all. Memorials can be sent to Cambodian Christian Arts Ministry, Special Olympics, or Wounded Warriors.

Have know Jan for many years as I was in Kiwanis with him. He was a very good man with good morals and I always enjoyed talking with him and getting his emails. I'm going to miss him. God be with your family at this time in your life. You've probably heard these two words, "time heals" which it does, I know. We know where Jan is. The memories that you shared are very precious, so reflect on them and hold them dear.
