Jerry Lee Swann passed away at home on March 9, 2019 in Bellvue, Colorado. Jerry was born on October 12, 1938 in Walker, Iowa to George and Tressie Swann. After high school he enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Madison, Wisconsin where he met and married the love of his life, Betty. They moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1964 and had two children, Randy and Cheryl. In 1971 they bought their current home in Bellvue. Jerry made a career of retail sporting goods management, by blending his friendly and outgoing personality, with his knowledge and passion for fishing and hunting. He worked at Jax Surplus for many years where he published a weekly Fishing & Hunting Report. Jerry will perhaps be best remembered as a warrior for veterans. He dedicated countless hours over the years to the American Legion, serving at the local, district, and state levels. He felt honored to have served this great country, and his patriotism was unwavering. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty; and his children, Randy (Laurie) and Cheryl (Jody) Ellmann. Jerry will also be fondly remembered by his two grandchildren, Zoe and Parker; his brothers, Larry and Ken (Sandy), and several cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens. A reception will immediately follow at the same location.

MY SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY. I have known Jerry for over 60 years. He was my husband Jose's best man for our wedding in 1959. I am thankful Cheryl drove them to Wisconsin and on September 5, 2018 friends & relatives got together at The Journey Buffett for a memorable evening.
