John was born to Iola (Strong) and John Holloway on February 3, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri.
He and his brother, Charlie, grew up in Alton, Illinois. John graduated from Alton High School, Illinois; was a member of the National Honor Society and lettered in baseball and basketball. He was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
John also served our country and is a WWII Navy veteran.
He married Joann Wray in 1955. John lived in Colorado since 1967.
He was employed with Continental Airlines for 35 years.
John was preceded in death by his brother Charlie Holloway.
He is survived by his wife, Joann (Wray) Holloway of Alaska; children, Lisa L. Wood of Colorado; Mark W. Holloway of Virginia; Jill E. (Daniel) Baker of Alaska; grandchildren, Jeremiah R. (Bridgette) Wood, Rachel J. (Jason) Keith and John W. Holloway; great-grandchildren, Brecken McKinley Keith, Bristol Grace Keith and third great-grandchild expected in September.
