John was the second of four sons born to Faye (Venturella) and Owen Remillard, who precede him in death, along with his three brothers, Micheal, Jim, and Roger. His journey began outside Chicago, Illinois on January 15, 1941. He left school in the 8th grade to go to work to help support his family. John was very intelligent and intent on learning and getting an education. He applied to 67 colleges and was accepted to two: Berkeley & Harvard. John was later awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree.
In 1971, John married Cynthia Prudhomme. Together they welcomed a daughter, Charmé. Cynthia had brought two other daughters into the marriage, Andrea and Alyson, who John raised as his own. Though they later parted ways, they remained friends throughout life and always put their children first. He was an amazing father.
John was a street kid at heart and always knew how to make life work for him. He was a scientist, an inventor, and a computer programmer. He loved his computer and working on his "project", ever searching for a way to extend one's life through science. He was well ahead of his time.
To his family, John was the most amazing and important man to have ever lived. His impact on the world will be everlasting because he invented and he discovered. John solved biological questions that no one else ever had or could. Knowing him was an honor. He had this talent and ability to master anything and this gift with people that was unexplainable. In his heart he was practical, loving, and a source of neverending kindness. His greatness was more than words can describe. John is truly unforgettable.
John's legacy of being true to one's self continues on in the lives of his family. He was a loving and supportive father to his daughter Charmé Remillard and her husband, Kristopher Henderson, who was like a son to John; and a proud grandfather to his grandson, Gabriel Brady.
A Committal Service will be held for John on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 1pm at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Fort Collins. Treasured memories of John and words of kindness for his family are welcome at resthavencolorado.com.
