Joy Anne Alexander of Fort Collins died on December 31, 2009 at her home. She was born on October 3, 1967 in St. Charles, IL, to Thomas and Anne (Carlson) Alexander. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1985 and from Northern Illinois University in 1989 with degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development. She went on to teach in pre-school and started her own Child Birth Classes for parents. Later, while fighting her own cancer battle, she worked as a Patient Navigator for cancer patients in Larimer County and the Hope Lives Foundation Support Organization for Breast Cancer patients. She had been a resident of Fort Collins since 1992.She is survived by Luca Lepori of Fort Collins; her parents, Tom and Anne Alexander of Pagosa Springs, CO; daughters, Natalie Coin and Dana Coin, both of Fort Collins; their father, Steven Coin of Fort Collins; sister Jennifer (Jay) Weller of Loveland and her maternal grandmother June Carlson of St. Charles, IL.Cremation has been completed. Memorial contributions can be made to the River Song Waldorf School in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
