Kathleen Ruth “Kathi” Smith, 82, of Fort Collins, passed away Tuesday, February 13th. Born in Newark, New Jersey she was the daughter of the late Willard and Kathryn Kavanaugh. Kathi graduated from West Orange High School in 1959 and immediately joined the United States Air Force. There she trained as a Medic and served at various Air Force bases in the U.S.
Kathi is survived by her husband of 57 years Stephen Smith, Daughter Holly of Athens GA, Sons Stephen (Diane) and Matthew both of Fort Collins, Four Grandchildren Austin, Liam, Benny and Flannery and one Great Grandchild, Finley.
Kathi worked as a receptionist in various medical offices in her career, but the job she was most proud of was her work as a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor for children at risk for Turning Point.
Burial services will be held Tuesday, February 20th at Cheyenne National Cemetery with full military honors.
