

Ken was born on January 18, 1944, to Robert Phelps and Helen (Phelps) Obert. One of seven children, he grew up with a strong sense of family, hard work, and perseverance that would guide him throughout his life.
A 1962 graduate of Westminster High School, Ken answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force shortly after graduation. He proudly served for four years and was stationed in Japan during his military service.
Following his time in the Air Force, Ken built a successful career in the pest control industry.Through dedication, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit, he eventually founded and operated his own business, earning the respect of customers and colleagues alike.
Ken embraced life with enthusiasm and gratitude. He enjoyed square dancing, hiking, biking, traveling, and spending time outdoors. He was passionate about conservative politics, enjoyed reading his Bible, and lived his life guided by his Christian faith. Those who knew Ken will remember him as a devoted husband, hardworking provider, easygoing friend, and a man of strong convictions and deep faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Suzanne Phelps; his sons, Wade Phelps, Brent Phelps, and Todd Phelps; and four grandchildren. Ken's legacy of faith, service, hard work, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80236, US, on June 29, 2026, at 1:30.
