Ken was a teacher at Poudre High School from 1966 to 1981. He taught American History and was a varsity basketball coach and tennis coach. Ken was also an avid golfer. He and his late wife, Carolyn Callaway, enjoyed golfing together and made many friends on the golf course.
Ken originally grew up in Kansas City, KS before moving to Fort Collins. He was an excellent athlete and received a full-ride scholarship in basketball. He chose to become a teacher, something he loved very much. To his end, he remained loyal to his Kansas University Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas City Royals.
Ken is survived by his two daughters, Kathleen and Kristin, his grandchildren, Jeremie, Brianna, and Audrey, and his great-grandchildren, Violet, Asher, Leighton, and Kellen. He is also survived by his stepson and stepdaughters, Ed, Jill, and Susan, and step-grandchildren, Albie, Ashley, and Amber.
Ken had moved to Monument, Colorado three years ago to be closer to his daughters. He sadly passed away from complications with pneumonia. This summer, a private service will be held with his close family to spread his ashes where his beloved wife Carolyn’s ashes were spread in the mountains.
The family would like his friends to know that he loved all of you very much and he would want you to remember him with the fun antics you all laughed about with him on the golf course and elsewhere. Know he was surrounded with love at his bedside and his death was a peaceful one.
