She was born on November 8, 1969, to Loma “Sue” Sue Miller. At the age of 5 she was adopted by Lewis “Lou” J. Baughman and helped raise her with Sue. Kimberly was raised in Loveland, Colorado and attended Berthoud High School where she worked hard through her studies. She worked many years for various companies such as Lafarge, JBS Carriers, and Renewable Fiber. Kimberly eventually decided to pursue and accomplish her dreams of owning her own business in 2021. She worked as a freight broker for 3 years and worked diligently and had an admirable passion for what she did.
In 1992, she married Alex Alvarado, and in 1997 welcomed a daughter, Brianna. While they eventually divorced, Kimberly and Alex kept in good contact and stayed as much of a family as possible for the daughter they shared. Brianna was Kimberly's whole world, her "One and Only", and anyone who knew Kimberly heard and knew Brianna through her and the stories she would share.
When she wasn’t dedicating her time to her work and business, Kimberly loved getting to work in her garden and spent as much time as she could outdoors. She loved the mountains and always dreamed of buying a cabin in the Rockies on day. She enjoyed drinking coffee at any time of the day, tending to her flowers, anything “bling”, going shooting, and had incredible admiration for her country. She loved horses and the mountains. She also enjoyed listening to a variety of music, such as Frank Sinatra, Disturbed, and any 70’s country. She treasured spending time with her daughter.
Kimberly lived out loud with confidence, poise, determination, positivity, strength, hope, and fearlessness. Her smile and loving personality brought so much light into the lives of the people who knew her best. She had the most marvelous ability to magnetize incredible, caring people to her, and she always made sure to let them know how much she cared for them. Her love for life was contagious and Kimberly brought so much joy and happiness to anyone she met. Mostly she loved her daughter and family and greatly enjoyed getting to be with them.
Through her journey with cancer and life, she fought the hardest she could. Even when others doubted her, she did an outstanding job of proving them wrong. She had an immeasurable amount of faith and strength that she carried with her through every second of her life. She always said, “I am not done yet”. And although she is not with us here physically on Earth, her spirit will forever be around us. She will be deeply missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and loved her.
Kimberly's legacy of love, hope, and perseverance will live on within her One and Only daughter, Brianna Alvarado of Cheyenne, Wyoming. She is further survived by ex-husband, Alex Alvarado of Johnstown, Colorado, and her longtime boyfriend, Carey McGee of La Salle, Colorado; brother, Troy Baughman and family of Loveland; and sisters, Heather Baughman and family of Loveland and Tami Baughman and family of Loveland; as well as four nephews, and two nieces. Her beloved father Lou Baughman and mother Sue Baughman preceded her in death.
