

She was born November 11, 1945, in Burlington, IA, to LaVern I and LaVerne M. (Doudna) Van Syoc.
After graduating from Marshalltown High HS, Class of 1963. She married Delwyn J. Watt on February 28, 1965. Together they had three children: daughter Del Ann Watt, and sons, James L. Watt and Devon L. Watt.
As her children grew older, she decided to further her education and earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Construction Graphics in 1988 from Yavapai College in Prescott, AZ; a Bachelor of Arts degree in Construction Technology in 1991 from Prescott College in Prescott, AZ; and a Master's degree in Vocational Education in 2001 from Northern Arizona University.
While in school she had many accomplishments and achievements:
• Student government- 1987 to 1988 Secretary.
• Society of Manufacturing Engineers- 1987- 1988 Treasurer.
• Scholastic All-American Collegiate Certificate of Merit 1987-88.
• Plus, achieving certificates in Community College Certificate of Teaching 1988 special classification for six years.
• Member of the Kiwanis International - Bradshaw Mtn. of Prescott Valley, Sergeant of Arms- 1991-92.
• Business Management Exam for Contractor’s License and the Residential General Contractors Exam – 1991.
Leana was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who made it her mission to be present in her family’s lives. Leana lived her life with a quiet but deep faith and love for God. Her belief was a steady foundation through all of life’s seasons, and her strength and kindness reflected the peace she carried in her heart.
She enjoyed watching games shows, baseball and bull riding, coloring on her iPad.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Lynn Van Syoc, and a granddaughter Elizabeth Joy Watt. Surviving is a daughter Del Ann Watt, and her son James L Watt and wife Emma, granddaughter Allison, and son Devon L Watt and wife Rachel, granddaughter Audra and grandson Colton Watt.
As per her wishes, she was Cremated, and her ashes will be buried with her parents in Winfield, IA.
For anyone wanting to share her life memories a small gathering will be held on Saturday, June 14th, from 1 pm to 3 pm at Oakbrook II 3300 Stanford Road, Fort Collins, Co 80525.
