

Leona Mae Kelly, 82, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away September 12, 2007 at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer.Leona was born at Waterbury, NE, on January 6, 1925 to Henry and Elsie Hansen. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Kelly on June 19, 1943 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana shortly before he reported for service as a medic in WWII. After the war, Gerald and Lee farmed in the Pender/Thurston Nebraska area until moving to Colorado in 1956. They made their home in Brighton, Colorado until 1972 when they moved to Loveland to establish KellyÂ?s Heating and Air Conditioning with their two sons, Gary and Ric. After retiring in 1988, they traveled throughout the United States with friends and as members of Good SamÂ?s in addition to wintering in the Phoenix, AZ area in their fifth wheel RV. Above all, Lee was devoted to her family. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary and there will be no replacement for her. Lee is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jerry; daughter Sue (Jim Bettger); Gary Kelly (Bonnie); Ric Kelly (Mary); Denise (Wayne Jablonski); 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Luella Mutz.A celebration of LeeÂ?s life will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at First Christian Church in Loveland, interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens with a reception to follow at Resthaven Funeral Home.
