Logan, or "Loggie" as she was affectionately known, became ill while on vacation in Colorado and developed a fatal infection from which she was not able to recover. She fought so hard for so long but after 51 days in the hospital, we had to say goodbye. She took her last breath as the sun began to set on August 7th, 2025. She was just 25 years young.
Logan's journey began in Alma, Michigan on January 11th, 2000. The youngest of five children, she brought a light into this world with her that began to shine the moment she was born. Her big beautiful eyes lit up the delivery room and her mother, Tammy, and father, Elmer, knew they had welcomed an angel. From a very early age, Logan demonstrated kindness and compassion for all beings that carried on throughout her life.
The Wood family moved to Fort Collins in 2002 when Logan was two years old and she graduated from Fossil Ridge High School on May 26th, 2018. She loved growing up in Northern Colorado and made many friends along the way. The family moved back to Michigan in 2020. While she was in school, Logan loved working with special needs students. She was so patient, kind, and understanding of the needs of others. She carried these incredible character traits into adulthood and continued to work with those differently abled as a Caregiver for Christian Home Services. Logan loved her work and cherished every person she cared for.
Whenever she could, Logan was listening to music. She loved K-Pop! Especially the band BTS. She had over 200 albums and would watch the videos with subtitles on so she could know and understand the lyrics. She video-chatted daily with friends, often about BTS. She liked getting new tattoos and loved hanging out with friends and family. When she wasn't looking out for other people, Logan was looking out for animals. She absolutely adored her dogs, Maggie & Bella Boo, and she was all about saving the turtles.
Logan was everyone's rock. She was the glue that held her family together. She was exceedingly selfless and always put the needs of others before her own, no matter what. Logan was so loving as a person and always took care of everyone first before she ever thought of herself. She was also strong-willed and determined, always taking care of her responsibilities. She was an advocate for her family and a good friend that could always be counted on. No matter the time of day, for anyone and anything, if she was needed, Logan was there. She showed up. She truly put her heart and soul into caring for others. She was 100% pure; a beautiful soul.
Loggie meant the world to her family. Her mom and dad are so proud of her and the wonderful young woman she grew up to be. Her beautiful smile lit up the room and she was always getting other people to laugh, even during the times when she was suffering on the inside. She touched the lives of everyone she ever knew or came across. She will forever be remembered as the light in the dark and will be dearly, dearly missed.
Broken-hearted by her passing and missing Logan already are her parents, Elmer & Tammy Wood; siblings Stacey Wood, Jeffery Wood, Skya Whitman, and Paige Wood; and her dogs Maggie & Bella. She was so loved by so many and will never be forgotten by grandma Linda Bennett; nieces Skyler Lepler, Leila Lepler, & Callie Lepler, and nephew Koltyn Eichhorn; aunts Marilyn Rease, Bridgette Henry, Danelle Lofton, & Carol Pearson; and uncles Austin Wood (Gwen), & Dennis Wood (Nancy); as well as many cousins and too many friends to mention, all whose lives were better because Logan was a part of it. Those that passed before her include her grandpa Chinis Bennett, grandma Beverly Wood, and grandpa Charles Wood.
A Celebration of Logan's Life will take place on Saturday, August 16th, 2025 at 11am at Resthaven Funeral Home in Fort Collins, after which her family will take her home to Michigan. Please come ready to share stories of how Logan impacted your life and what she meant to you.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wood Family to ease the burden of final expenses as they travel down this most difficult path. Treasured memories of Logan and words of condolence for her family are welcome at resthavencolorado.com.
