Margaret (Tuttle) Hopkins, aka Meg, Mom, Nan, Nanner, Nan Nan, was born into a large family in Petersburg, Illinois on February 11, 1934. She was married to Richard "Dick" Hopkins on October 2nd, 1952. He remained her first and only love even after his death.
She was 90 when she died, so one can only imagine all the things she's seen and experienced in those years. She was a devoted mother to two, Rhonda Pierce and Steven Hopkins; grandmother to three, Tiffany Pierce, Lindsay Pierce, and Kelly Dodd; and a great-grandmother to four, Jaxon Arnett, Rylee Arnett, Collins Dodd, and Sloan Dodd.
Among her many interests, she was an avid leader, enjoyed playing Bridge, and was known as the "Queen of Mahjong" within her playing circle. Meg volunteered at Volunteers of America, UCHealth, and was on the HOA board for many years.
Dick and Meg traveled extensively with their various RV trailers and did the "snowbird" thing, wintering in Kino Bay, Mexico for many years. They were very proud of the house they designed and built themselves in Fort Collins, which included passive solar heating features that were well ahead of their time. They planted apple trees and harvested a great many apples from them.
Meg passed exactly as she had hoped, quick and at home with family. The entire family is still amazed and proud that she lived with determined independence right up to the very end. Meg, Mom, Nan, Nanner, Nan Nan, you will be missed!
