Marilyn was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 14, 1946 to Florence (Glover) and Ernest Werner. She grew up in Minnetonka and Wayzata, Minnesota and graduated from Wayzata High School. Following high school, she attended college and then Beauty School. Marilyn married Gregory Alan Koch in South Dakota in 1966. Together they welcomed a son, Greg Jr. She later married Dan Bacon and they relocated to Colorado in 1976.
Marilyn worked for many years for King Soopers, where she had an awesome career. She was very intelligent and a hard worker. Her hard work did not go unnoticed and she quickly moved up the ladder until she was a General Manager and became invaluable to the company. Later on, she opened a retail shop, Trendz, with her sister Judy.
Marilyn was a kind soul. She had an open home and an open heart. During the holidays, she always made sure to include others. Everyone was welcome. She was tenacious. So much so, that she was in and out of hospice. Marilyn always kept her sense of humor about her and was making jokes right up until the end. She did regret that her illness kept her from spending more time with her grandson, who she loved very dearly. Marilyn was an angel on earth and she will be dearly missed by all those that knew her.
Marilyn leaves behind her son, Gregory Alan Koch Jr. and her grandson, Keaton Alan Koch. She is also survived by her brothers, Joe Hoeschen, Jim Hoeschen, and Jeffrey Hoeschen (Kathy); sisters, Barbara “BJ” French, Judy Eppel (Jeff), Ruth Schmidtke, and Jan Dahl (Jeff); and many nieces and nephews.
No services are planned at this time for Marilyn. Cremation has been entrusted to Resthaven Funeral Home. Memories of Marilyn and words of condolence for her family are welcome at www.resthavencolorado.com.
