Roger and I were so blessed to have Marty and Wayne as neighbors and friends for the years we lived in Fort Collins. Marty’s bouncing walk to the mailbox past our home always included waves, hugs or just joyful conversation. We enjoyed visiting the “park” that was their lovely backyard retreat. And I remember Marty coming to our door with a large bouquet of her iris blooms- most beautiful in the neighborhood- and she was so excited to share them. Wayne gave us many stories about Marty so that we could know her better. And she told us many stories about her life as a girl on the farm. Marty was precious and a delight. We will cherish memories of her. A beautiful person inside and out. - Roger and Sandy Anderson

We feel very fortunate to have met Marty and to have  known her for such a short period of our life. She was a very loving and caring person. We feel blessed that she was part of our life and she will always be remembered.

Marty was my only sister out of 8 brothers.  She was raised with me and my  brothers on various farms in the  Gill, Pierce, Windsor areas of Colorado.  She was 5th in line having 4 older brothers (Cedric, Manual, Tony Jr. John)  and 3 younger brothers (Deme, Julian, Richard) and then me and then finally a little brother Andy.   She was 13 years older that me and my mother put Marty in care of me and my little brother.  As a young girl her older brother’s took "care" of her.  Once my mother made her a cape and the “boys” convinced her she could fly like superman and tried to get her to jump off the roof of chicken coop.  She helped mom with all the housework, childcare and learned to cook and make a home.  She also got to go “out” as a teenager because she had all these brothers to take her to dances and chaperone.  She graduated from Windsor High School and  attended CSU but had to leave school because of family  hardships.  But that did not deter her from continuing her education.  She moved to Denver and attended Barnes Business School. And when family needed her she moved back to the farm.  Marty had a very successful career  in banking and administrative fields.   She worked at United Banks in the controller’s office in accounting operations. She also worked in the admissions and accounting  at Poudre Valley Memorial Hospital and was an operations in-take/receptionist at H&R Block.  She also managed a small retail children’s store.   Her work life did not interrupt her devotion to her husband Wayne or to her children Michelle and DeWayne.  She made education and learning a priority for them as evidenced by their successful careers in education and engineering.  Most recently encouraging her grandson Charlie in his school and sports.  She loved her yard and irises and the Denver Broncos.  She was a devoted to family.    photo @1953 Marty & Me.

Marty was the sweetest, kindest sister-in-law I could ever hope for.  She never had an unkind word.  Such a positive and cheerful spirit.  She was the most faithful wife to my beloved brother and such a wonderful mother.  Marty will be missed.

Bishops and Hoods were early settlers in the neighborhood. Marty always shared an enthusiastic update about family when I’d walk past Bishop’s beautiful  yard. Michelle, you were my kids’ favorite sitter. Wayne, you and Ken were kindred spirits.  DeWayne, you grew up too fast. Marty’s perky spirit holds dear.
