She was the last surviving one of seven children, 5 sisters and 1 brother; Jesse, Neva, Vivian, Mary, Geogiana, and Ernie.
From a young age, Martha was a spiritual person who symbolized her dedication to Jehovah God through water baptism in 1958, as a member of the Spanish Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It was there she met and later married Arthur J. Gallegos in 1965. Together they were happily, faithfully married for 59 years until Art’s passing in March 2024.
Martha complemented and supported Art through the years helping build the family-owned business, Gallegos Sanitation. Martha was a woman of integrity and strong moral fortitude making her an invaluable contributor to the business, particularly for her meticulous financial oversight.
Together Art and Marty, as she was known, had three children; Kari (Sid), Matt (Karen), and Jeff (Katie), along with 8 grandchildren (Keilani, Jacob, Alliyah, Tatiana, Paris, Alexandra, Jackson, and Luisa) and 2 great-grandchildren(Charli, Kai). She also held close to her heart her dear niece Cindy Gonzalez and many more nieces and nephews, along with a treasured circle of spiritual family and friends whose love, loyalty, and steadfast support surrounded her—especially after Art’s passing and throughout her season of illness.
Marty was known to many for her kindness and hospitality. She was an exceptional mother and wife. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a very talented cook and over the years taught many of them.
Martha was an avid gardener - a talent she learned from her parents. Each summer, she would spend countless hours along side Art caring for her flowers, garden and yard. In her final days she reminisced of the promised paradise ahead with Art by her side, where she will soon continue her most loved pastime expressing her love of God’s creation.
Together, Art and Marty traveled to many beautiful places around the world, yet their most treasured moments were often the simplest—driving through the majestic Rocky Mountains, stopping along a quiet river or creek to fish and take in the peace around them. They instilled in their family a deep appreciation for God’s creation and a heartfelt reverence for Jehovah, whose love, justice, wisdom, and power they clearly saw reflected in the beauty of the natural world.
Martha spent the last month of her life at her cherished home staying warm by the fire, with a beautiful view of her yard and the mountains with her family near her side. She passed on Thursday morning, February 19, 2026 due to various health complications.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5-9 pm, at Allnutt Funeral Home. Please come pay your respects, share a story, support the family, and enjoy lite appetizers and dessert.
