Megan was an avid hiker and a great partner to go adventuring with. She was never more at home than when in the great outdoors. She and I enjoyed many a hike together and helped me learn to refine my landscape photography. I'll never forget our sunset hikes near Drake, listening to goofy music, or the white-knuckle drives back down to town.  I'll also never forget the first time meeting up with Brian to hunt with the two of them, and him scaring us silly with his mountain lion call.

Megan or as I would say hi to her “Krum Krum” she would always laugh and that’s how we started our shift, with smiles. It was very heart breaking when we found out that we lost Megan, everyone she worked with was shocked to her passing. Megan had the biggest heart and she always loved helping people. One of my favorite memories with Megan was after she dealt with a very rude person at work and her fellow coworkers handled the situation. Megan was ready with gloves and wipes to help us clean our selfs off. She said to me “sir would you like a wipe” in British accent. And I replied “yes me lady”, we laughed about that for a long time. Megan will be missed, and I am so grateful for the memories I got to share with her.

Thank you for all of the kind messages. It means a lot from Megan’s family. We are struggling right now, but pulling together to navigate our journey forward together, like never before. Krum was hired at LCSO shortly after I was and after training we both were placed on night shift together. Even fresh out of training she was always confident, calm and collected. After that first year we went on to work different shifts. I always looked forward to seeing her name on the schedule and the days we were able to work together because everything just felt lighter.  It didn't matter how long she knew you, she'd smile and make you feel welcomed/included. 

She was always the first to grab a file, assist with property, or offer to take on undesirable tasks to help anyone. I'm known to stay late finishing tasks and every evening when she'd relieve our shift she would pressure me to go home. She'd steal files off my desk and like clockwork, with a smile on her face, would say, "Go home. I got this." It's been a year since we worked together but I still remember leaving on my final shift. She looked at me, smiled, shared a few memories and said goodbye. 

 She was so sweet, smart, funny, and gentle. She'd walk into a room and just brighten your day. She was the best person to talk to when you were stuck on a problem. She treated everyone with kindness and respect, whether it was coworkers, other agencies, the public or inmates. It didn't matter, everyone was greeted with a smile. 

My heart hurts knowing she was in so much pain. We truly lost someone so special..

We'll forever miss you Krum.

Megan, you will be missed. You were always the kindest, warmest person I knew. I wish we had more time to get closer. I wish I had known to reach out. I’ll remember the days of hanging out with you & Devon always.

Megan, this is absolutely heartbreaking to hear.. I know we hadn’t talked since middle school, and I feel horrible for that… but you were an amazing friend and I wish I would’ve taken the chance to get to know you better and grow closer. I really wish we would’ve kept in touch. I remember having some classes together in middle school and talking about random things, especially band and orchestra. You will be deeply missed

Megan good on the high school. She was nice to be in very good smile was 2017. She was in that honor because a good thought. Megan was she was Work so helping so what day was school? 2017 mountain vista she played the soccer game. I miss you Meagan

I have rewritten this message a million times trying to figure out the right thing to say. Megan, you were and still are such a treasured light in this world. You shined bright with those around you and you will continue to do so in the beautiful sunsets you cast. 

We weren’t close, but we may have had a class or two together in high school and we did work together a couple of shifts at Noodles. I haven’t been to a Noodles in like 2 years, but I went and got some food there today in your honor. Was it your favorite place to be? Most likely not. But I hope it brings you a little bit of peace knowing you’re being thought about by many right now. It was a Pad Thai, in case you were curious. ❤️

Oh Krumdawg, you were such a light in this world for everyone you interacted with. You always had a smile on your face and were always willing to lend a helping hand when you were needed. This world is not going to be the same without you. You were one of my OG noodle babies and I’ll be forever grateful for the time that you were in my life. 💜💜

My heart goes out to you all in this extremely sad time.
I will always remember Megan as a little girl whom I’d storm the neighborhood with running, riding our bikes, singing and dancing our hearts out.
I will also remember us climbing the fence and just hanging out up there for hours, since our houses were caddy cornered to each others, we would also climb it to yell to each other to see if we could play. 
No words would be helpful in this scenario as the pain is too great in your hearts.

It’s been a long time since Megan and I talked, but I’ve always thought about her and all the great times we had. We went on so many adventures and had so many jokes in high school and when we worked together. She was such a large part of my life and I’ve told those stories so many times. I wish that we had stayed close friends but I am happy that I have all of the photos and memories from those times. I’ll miss her a lot as I know so many will.

Megan Lindsey and I were the best of childhood friends. I couldn’t remember a time she wasn’t over at our house in Loveland or at Windsor for a time celebrating all my birthdays, holidays and having a great time growing up together through elementary and middle school.

Megan, you brought so much comfort and fondness to my childhood. I remember when you discovered your passion for band, your career path towards criminal justice with how wickedly smart you were even at such a young age, and how really goofy you were. We were kindred spirits together truly, both obsessed with photography, animals and helping others in general.

 I don’t have enough words to describe our friendship over the years and wish we had more opportunities to reconnect, hike together and celebrate more birthdays and holidays with one another. I adored seeing your adventures as you did mine, commenting on each other’s socials and messaging ever so often to catch up.

Every-time I’m up in the mountains hiking and taking photos as well I’ll be thinking of your sweet soul and the memories we shared.

Krum, I am going to miss seeing your smile everyday at work and hearing about the latest hike you went on.  You were someone I could always rely on.  Someone who would help others with a positive attitude.  Not one single person you came into contact with had a negative thing to say.   Watching you grow as a person whether it was  by taking classes and attending the Citizen Academy or teaching the next group of new employees as an FTO.  You were an inspiration to us all.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Megan’s passing last week.
I didn’t know her well beyond a few work interactions, but losing a member of our team leaves a silence that’s hard to fill.

My thoughts are with Megan and, above all, with her family. May they feel our support and sincere condolences in this difficult time. We will honor her by extending extra care and kindness to one another.

I had the pleasure of working with Megan for four years at the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. She was an extraordinarily talented young woman—kind, funny, witty, and brilliant. Megan was beautiful inside and out. She loved music and adventure, and she had a remarkable ability to admire and appreciate the depth of nature and its beauty. 

Megan was sweet, kind, and bold. Her smile drew people in and made them feel comfortable and warm. Her presence made the world feel lighter, brighter, and happier. No matter the circumstances, Megan smiled through everything. 

It pains me that I could not help her; I would give what I don't have to bring her back. Today, my heart is broken. Megan's memory will forever live in my heart. I will miss her dearly, but I hope that she is now at peace. I wish the Krumwiede family strength and peace during this difficult time. You raised a truly amazing human.

I was heartbroken to hear about   Megan.She was a wonderful colleague and a kind person who brought so much positivity to our team. I will truly miss her — her warmth, her laughter, and the dedication she showed every day.

My interactions with Megan were exclusive to our time working together at the jail.  I had responsibility for dispersal of incoming reading material, and from time to time some of these items were not permitted.  I would go to booking looking for someone to assist me in getting them to property.  It was not always easy to find someone available given the busy nature of this area.  On multiple occasions Megan must have noticed my look of desperation, as she would make eye contact, smile, and graciously accept the reading material to be stowed into property.  Her smile was genuine and always refreshing to see.  I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to meet and interact with Megan.

Any time I crossed paths with Megan at our work, she always shared smiles and a kind beautiful attitude. This is how I want to remember you.

I started working at the LCSO around the same time as Megan. I didn't get to work closely with her, but saw her beautiful gentle presence from time to time in passing. She was a lovely person and will be deeply missed! I will be praying for your family now and in the time ahead.

Megan, I am so saddened to know that you are gone. We haven’t been in touch since high school but I still remember our interactions at school and especially at Noodles so fondly. Showing up to close and seeing that you were working too always brightened my day and made the shift so much more enjoyable. You were such a kind, selfless, intelligent and hardworking person. Just the other day I saw your new profile picture and thought you looked so beautiful, I wish I had reached out to tell you so. I’m so sorry to learn that you were struggling so much. Megan and I met while I worked as a Deputy for the Sheriff's Office. My favorite memory of her was when we spoke about Grey's Anatomy, the TV show. I told her it was funny that my wife was having me watch the show and Megan told me she liked it as well. I told her that I just met "McDreamy" and "McSteamy". Two of the doctors on the show.

I laughed out loud and said that Megan could be McWiede as a play on her last name. We laughed and everytime I saw her after that, the nickname was something we laughed about. Megan smiled about it every time and it brought levity to a stressful career. 

She will be sorely missed. My condolences go to her Family.

Words cannot describe how incredibly heartbroken I am at the loss of Krum. Megan was a strong, kind, smart, incredibly caring,strong and gorgeous woman. Life seemed easier with her in it. Talking to her was the best part of any day,and I could do it for hours without knowing that any time had passed. 2000 characters is not nearly enough to adequately describe the joy she brought me and so many others. Her smile was so warm and her wit was so sharp. Her laugh was something I could easily listen to for hours on end. The way her eyes sparkled is unforgettable. The way she just seemed to understand any of my silly references never failed to impress me. The way she nodded her head excitedly was absolutely adorable. Megan was so incredibly talented, the photos she took on her phone alone would be ones I’d expect to see in landscape photography stores. She could talk to anyone and make them smile with ease. She had such a calm demeanor that is irreplaceable. Megan was quick to act when those she cared about were hurt. When me and my partners were hurt in the line of duty she moved so quickly to get towels for my partner and to help all of us, I didn’t know a person could move that fast. Megan meant more to me than she’ll ever know, I loved her very much and hope that one day I’ll get to see her again.

I am so sorry for your loss. Megan was a very kind person who indeed greeted everyone with a smile. I was fortunate to have met her at the Larimer County Jail. She will be very missed by her work family. ❤️
