Patricia “Pat” Mae Fahrbach, 93, passed away Tuesday March 17th, 2026, in Fort Collins Colorado. Born in Appleton, Wisconsin to Francis and Anna Fischer, Pat was the middle of nine children. Her father died when she was barely 13, and Pat became very resourceful and worked at a shoe shop during high school and at a bank after graduation. She was a lifelong and faithful Catholic. She married Garth Fahrbach on November 16, 1957 in Appleton Wisconsin and they moved immediately to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where her new husband had just started his career at Sandia Laboratories. Their first daughter Connie was born in Albuquerque. They relocated to Los Alamos, New Mexico where they had two more daughters, Beth and Peggy. Their family of five lived in a cramped, one bedroom apartment and due to a severe housing shortage moved back to Albuquerque where they bought their first and only home and raised their daughters. Pat was a busy homemaker with lots of hobbies, including quilting and sewing. She made many clothes for her daughters and their dolls and entered her projects in the New Mexico state fair. She was a beautiful piano player. She and Garth were active square dancers and met many lifelong friends through their activities. She was a Campfire Girls leader, a member of the Blue Army of Our Lady who said the rosary every day, a volunteer at Birthright, and was active with her husband in the New Mexico Republican Party. Because she had type O-negative blood, she was often called upon to donate and reached many gallons of blood donations over the years. She researched the family genealogy for both her and Garth’s ancestry and was successful in tracking both lines back to their European origins.
Pat and Garth moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, in 2019 to be closer to their daughters. Her husband Garth passed in January, 2020. Pat lived the remaining years of her life at New Mercer Commons Assisted Living Center where she loved and participated in all the games and activities, and she made many good friends. She died on St. Patrick’s Day in 2026, days after suffering a stroke. Surviving are her three daughters: Connie McConnell, Beth (Steve) Williams, and Peggy (Tony) Rohr; and five grandchildren: Benjamin, Lisa, and Jenna Williams, and Garth (Amanda) Rohr and Timothy (Samantha) Rohr. Her sister Verna (Dick) Rohe also survives of the original nine Fischer siblings.
Meditation and silent prayer/rosary to be held at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 9:30 AM on Monday March 23rd, 2026, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 300 W. Mountain Avenue in Fort Collins with internment at Grand View Cemetery and reception to follow. Arrangements by Allnutt Drake Chapel in Fort Collins.
