Rev. Paul L. Shipman

Rev. Paul L. Shipman, aged 79, passed away on February 4, 2026. Born in Canon City, Colorado, on October 6, 1946, to Paul and Merna Shipman, he was raised in Pueblo, Colorado. Paul graduated from East High School in 1964 and married his beloved wife, Lois, on July 30, 1966. He pursued his education at LIFE Bible College in Los Angeles, California, where he graduated in May 1968, serving as the student body president during his senior year.

Rev. Shipman dedicated his life to ministry, beginning as a youth pastor in Lamar, Colorado, from June 1968 to January 1969. He continued his pastoral work in Trinidad, Colorado, from January 1969 to December 1972, and subsequently served as a pastor in Fort Collins, Colorado, from January 1973 to October 1989, all at the Foursquare Gospel Church.

Paul had a passion for fishing, camping, and crossword puzzles. He was also the owner of the thrift store, New Life Exchange, and was into property management on the side.

In his own words, Paul often said, "I am good for 2 bucks."

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Paul Shipman, his mother, Merna Shipman, and his brothers, Duane (Barbara) Shipman and Garry (Julia) Shipman.

He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Lois, his son Paul Wayne (Tracy) Shipman, his son Jason (Amy) Shipman, his daughter Stephanie (Jeremy) Stillwell, and his daughter Sara (Marvin) Oqueli. He was blessed with eleven grandchildren: Olivia, Selah, Gabriel, and Bryce Shipman, Jake, Toby, and Ellie Stillwell, LylaMae, Bianca, Amberly, and Savannah Oqueli, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Timberline Church, located at 2908 S Timberline Rd, Fort Collins, CO, 80525, on March 27, 2026, at 10:00 am. A reception in Paul's memory will follow the service. Please join the family in laying Paul to rest at Roselawn Cemetery at 2718 E Mulberry St, Fort Collins, CO 80524 after the reception.
