Philip Louis Trubia

September 1, 1946June 20, 2020

Philip Louis Trubia of Fort Collins passed away on June 20, 2020 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was lovingly cared for in his final years by his three children and passed peacefully. Phil was born on Staten Island, NY on September 1, 1946 to Louis and Marie Trubia. He began a long and successful career as a hairstylist in New York City at the age of 17 and married Barbara Schulman of Staten Island, NY on January 7, 1968. Phil and Barbara owned several hair salons while raising their family primarily in New Hampshire. He enjoyed oil painting, model trains, singing, cross-country skiing, Italian food and most of all, spending time with his family. Phil loved the natural beauty of God's creation, particularly the sunshine, mountains, and ocean. He made people laugh, was kind, gentle, loving, and could strike up a conversation with just about anybody, anywhere. Phil is survived by his former wife Barbara Trubia, son Philip and wife Karen, son Robert and wife Wendy, daughter Tracie Hermsen and husband Edward, and grandchildren: Hunter, Luke, Levi, Taylor, Abigail, Benjamin, Emma, Ryan, Gage, Kalyn, and great grandchildren: Carter, Christian, Isabel, Abigail, and David. Phil is also survived by sisters Christina Gordon, Rachel Certo, Luanne Pinckney, and brother, John Trubia. The family is planning a private ceremony at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins.
